Widget Reviews

Widgets Lab.com is a regularly updated source for reviews on web widgets. There are MySpace friendly widgets sprinkled in the posts and the archives. Use the on site search or use the categories drop down menu to help locate a widget. The author's email address is on the main page if you are having a hard time finding that perfect widget.

News Tickers

Nooz is the community news site for MySpace. MySpace users submit the news stories that Nooz.com displays, showing you what’s important to other MS’ers. You can add a news ticker on your MS profile that will scroll through the top stories of the day.

Vintage arcade games

FreeCodeSource.com has some great Flash-based games to put on your profile, classics like Frogger, Pac-Man, and Asteroids. The preview of these games looks great, but the fine print tells you that they will appear smaller in your MS profile. But they’re still kinda cool.

YouTube

Want to show off your dancing video? Or just link to the latest George Bush whopper? You can stick a YouTube link into your MySpace profile in a snap. Go to YouTube and find your video -- the embed link is just to the right of the video. Cut and paste it into your profile and there you go!

MyPickList

Hosting a party and need people to bring stuff? Or want to show Daddy your top five most favorite ponies? You can build an online shopping wish list at MyPickList.com, just by filling out two pages of forms. You can then broadcast that list on your MySpace profile. If anyone buys a product from your PickList, you get a commission sent to your PayPal account.

Glitter Words

Glitter Graphics gives your profile extra flavor with a worn-out saying that shimmers like a '70s iron-on decal. Choose from “#1 Pimpin’ Bitch,” “99% Angel,” “Keepin It Real,” and the evergreen “XOXO.” Just cut and paste the code and add it into your profile.

TagWorld

TagWorld is one of a new generation of social networking sites nipping at the heels of MySpace, just as MySpace nipped at Friendster in its time. TagWorld’s edge on MySpace is better design, rounded Mac-like edges, and widgets galore integrated into the system. TagWorld's widgets will also work in MySpace, so you can have the best of both worlds. The only catch is that you have to register with TagWorld to get the widgets to use on your MySpace profile. TagWorldWidgets.com is not Safari-compliant.
